The booking form

When you send the booking form, we receive:

• your name
• your mobile number
• your town or city
• the service you picked
• the type of unit, if you chose one
• what you wrote in the message box, if you wrote anything

Recorded with it, without you typing them: the page you sent it from, the IP address your connection was using, and the time.

The chat box

When you send a message from the chat box, we receive:

• your message
• your mobile number
• your email address, if you gave one

And the same three again: the page, the IP address and the time.

The applications form

If you send your details through Work with us, we receive:

• your name
• your mobile number
• the town or city you live in
• the kind of work you are looking for
• your years of experience, if you said
• anything you wrote in the last box

And the same three again: the page, the IP address and the time. It goes to the owner by email under its own subject line and into the same log as the others, marked as an application rather than a booking.

Where it goes

Both go to the owner by email so that somebody can ring you back. Both are also written to a log file on the web host, which sits outside the public part of the site and is not reachable from the internet.

Nobody else is sent what you type into either form.

Cloudflare, and what it adds

This site sits behind Cloudflare, which serves the pages and screens traffic for us. That means Cloudflare sees every request to the site, keeps its own record of them in the ordinary way a host does, and adds three things to your visit that our own pages do not contain:

• a cookie named cf_clearance, set for about a year, which their system uses to tell a person from a bot. Your browser cannot read it and neither can we.
• a bot-detection script of theirs, served from an address on this domain beginning /cdn-cgi/.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and reports them to Cloudflare rather than to us.

We did not write any of that and we cannot switch it off from the pages themselves. It is named here because it happens on your visit whether or not you send us anything.

Beyond Cloudflare, the only outside service a page contacts on its own is Fontshare, which serves the two typefaces and sees the IP address of any browser that fetches them. We run no advertising tags and no analytics of our own.

Asking us to remove an entry

Send the booking form saying so, or text the number in the footer of this page, and tell us roughly when you first contacted us so we can find the entry.

What this page does not say yet

It does not give a retention period, because the owner has not set one, and it does not promise a deletion deadline for the same reason. Rather than print a figure nobody keeps to, this page says what is true today and will be added to when he decides. If that matters to you before you send anything, text the number in the footer and ask first.
